Our Projects

The heart behind the healing

The Dreamin Foundation’s projects are born from compassion and guided by sustainability.

We focus on programs that strengthen local healthcare systems, empower professionals, and create lasting change long after the initial funding or training has finished.

Below are our current major initiatives that continue to transform lives, both in South Australia and abroad.

ENT Pacifika

Training, equipment and education that save lives across the Pacific
In many Pacific Island nations, there are fewer than one Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon per million people — a critical shortage compared to the World Health Organisation’s recommendation of one per 100,000. This means countless treatable ear infections, hearing conditions, and airway diseases go undiagnosed and untreated.

Through ENT Pacifika, The Dreamin Foundation helps bridge that gap by supporting a postgraduate ENT Diploma delivered through Fiji National University.
The program provides world-class training, equipment, and mentorship from Australian, New Zealand, and South Korean specialists who donate their time and expertise.

Our funding covers essential medical tools such as:

  • Microscopes and endoscopes
  • Diagnostic equipment and hearing tests
  • Newborn hearing screening devices
  • Operating instruments for safe ENT surgeries

So far, six doctors across Fiji, Samoa, Kiribati and the Solomon Islands have graduated, including Dr Fani Lord, the first female ENT consultant in the Pacific. These local doctors are now saving lives within their own communities, reducing dependence on overseas aid and transforming regional healthcare for generations to come.

“Training through The Dreamin Foundation gave me the skills and confidence to perform surgeries that were once impossible in my country.”

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessments – South Australia

Early diagnosis, lifelong difference
In Adelaide’s northern suburbs, families can wait up to four years for an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment — a delay that can drastically affect a child’s development.

Through a partnership with Adelaide Paediatrics, the The Dreamin Foundation helps fund early ASD assessments for children who otherwise could not access timely care. Early diagnosis unlocks access to vital therapies and support through the NDIS, setting children and families on a path to better outcomes.

So far, over 40 children and their familes have received accelerated assessments through this program, each one gaining earlier access to occupational therapy, speech therapy, and funding support.

Maranatha Health Centre – Uganda

Building surgical capacity and hope in Africa
In partnership with Maranatha Health, The Dreamin Foundation is supporting the development of a new hospital in Fort Portal, Uganda. This initiative will include the construction of fully equipped operating theatres to expand surgical capacity in the region.

While still in planning, the project represents a shared Australian vision that will improve access to essential surgical care for thousands of people each year. Funding requirements are expected to range between $200,000 and $500,000, depending on the final scope.

This project continues The Dreamin Foundation’s commitment to meaningful, long-term investment in healthcare systems, by supporting local doctors and ensuring that essential surgeries become accessible to all.

Ben Beresford/DREAMIN/AMSF Travel Scholarships

This project exists to support Adelaide medical students entering their final year of study in their international elective placements. A preference is given to students undertaking placement at developing countries Maranatha Health, Uganda.

Expanding opportunities for the future

Our upcoming focus areas include:

  • Continuing ENT education across the Pacific Islands through new training partnerships.
  • Increasing ASD funding to help up to 50 children per year in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
  • Supporting local innovation – empowering South Australians who identify unmet healthcare needs to lead change through new DREAMIN-backed initiatives.

Every one of these projects demonstrates the same belief that drives us:
True impact happens when compassion leads to collaboration.
